Our popular contemporary poetry series, Poetry Club, continues in our atmospheric bar.

In October we are pleased to welcome three brilliant female poets A K Blakemore, Mary Jean Chan and Rebecca Perry.

A K Blakemore is the author of two full-length collections of poetry: Humbert Summer (Eyewear, 2015) and Fondue (Offord Road Books, 2018), which was awarded the Ledbury Forte Prize for Best Second Collection. Her work has been widely published and anthologised, appearing in The London Review of Books, Poetry, Poetry London and The Poetry Review, among others. She lives and works in London.

Mary Jean Chan is the author of Flèche (Faber 2019), which was selected as a Poetry Book Society Autumn Recommendation. Her debut pamphlet A Hurry of English (ignitionpress 2018) was chosen as the 2018 PBS Summer Pamphlet Choice. In 2017, Mary Jean was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Single Poem, and is currently shortlisted for the 2019 Forward Prizes in the same category. She is the 2018 winner of the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize, and the recipient of a 2019 Eric Gregory Award. Mary Jean is a Lecturer in Creative Writing (Poetry) at Oxford Brookes University and lives in London.

Rebecca Perry‘s first poetry collection, Beauty/Beauty, was shortlisted for the 2015 T.S. Eliot Prize and won the Michael Murphy Memorial Prize. Her pamphlets include cleanliness of rooms and walls, insect & lilac and, most recently, beaches, 2019. She lives in London.
