Ambiguous Dance Company: The Belt - Future

(This is a past event and is no longer running)

The World Premiere of a high octane full-length piece from Korea’s leading dance company.

Ambiguous Dance Company and their Artistic Director Boram Kim present their vision of the future of dance with their own acclaimed brand of playful, pulsating choreography. Combining hip-hop, ballet and acrobatics, Ambiguous bring the energy of the new Korea to this stunningly restored icon of the Victorian age

Ambiguous’ CV includes collaborations with Coldplay and the V&A’s Korean Wave exhibition. In this new piece, Ambiguous takes inspiration from the UK’s trailblazing innovation at the time the theatre was built, from the perspective of the most vibrant, inventive and astounding new cultures in the modern world.

The Belt comes in two parts. Part 1: Past is an immersive journey through The Coronet’s hidden backstage areas, dressing rooms, attics and the glorious rooftop cupola. Part 2: Future is a thrilling full-company stand alone piece on the theatre’s main stage which can be combined with Part 1, or is complete in itself. Additional Information

Ambiguous Dance Company
Ambiguous gained global recognition through their collaboration with pop sensation Coldplay, their wildly popular Higher Power video which achieved over 600 million views on YouTube, as well as their collaborations with Gucci and BMW, reinforcing their status as one the country’s most prominent collectives. Founded by choreographer Boram Kim and dancer Kyeongmin Jang in 2008, the name of the group perfectly describes the “undefinable” characteristics of their genre-defying dance.
